    The problem of global warming is attracting increasing attention in the academic and industrial world. Today a major portion of the population is aware that greenhouse gases (GHGs) are the main contributors to climate change. This article reviews current trends in CO2 emission reductions in supply network design. This article focuses on mathematical models employed in supply network design that include environmental characteristics. Facility location and technology selection are important factors in supply design, and may determine the possible environmental damage and economic impact of a supply network. The CO2 market appears as an interesting alternative for managing emissions using CO2 credits. In the area of production, emphasis is placed on reducing emissions through efficient energy use and in the transport area through freight transport consolidation, and more efficient vehicle utilization

    Purpose: Optimal order allocation on the part of the buyer in a multi-supplier environment has become a major concern in supply chains. There are numerous articles that analyze and present models for optimizing order allocation from a given panel of suppliers. The purpose of this paper is to provide an analysis on this topic which considers: (i) aims, (ii) results, (iii) model complexity, and (iv) resolution procedures. Design/methodology/approach: The paper reviews twenty-one articles published since 2007 in journals indexed by Journal Citation Reports (in ISI Web of Knowledge) on this topic. Findings and Originality/value: This review reveals four main aspects mentioned as determinant in generating mathematical models. The analysis of these four points does not allow for a single, overarching model. Rather, all analyzed solutions reflect and respond to a specific company environment. Originality/value: A global analysis on several recent papers, describing main aspects wich determines optimal order allocation in multi-supplier environment.

    Abstract. Supplier selection is currently a subject of great importance to companies. Numerous articles have been published recently, recommending different methods and/or procedures for evaluating and selecting the suppliers with whom the purchasing company will work. The present article reviews a total of 39 articles dealing with this subject, published between 2007 and the present day, in magazines indexed by Journal Citation Reports (in ISI Web of Knowledge). They will be analyzed in order to determine: (i) procedures used in determining criteria, (ii) identification and structure of the criteria under consideration, (iii) methods used to evaluate and select the suppliers and (iv) aims in the selection of suppliers

    El objetivo del presente trabajo es proponer un algoritmo genético para determinar la programación integrada de la producción y de la distribución de un producto de carácter perecedero y no almacenable, el hormigón. La empresa en cuestión cuenta con diferentes plantas productivas desde las cuales distribuye los pedidos hasta cada obra, con la ayuda de una flota de vehículos. La programación de los pedidos se efectúa el día anterior a su distribución, siendo el objetivo cumplir con el nivel de servicio acordado con el cliente y minimizar su coste asociado. El problema es NP-hard. Los resultados obtenidos muestran que el algoritmo genético propuesto realiza la programación minimizando costes y respetando las condiciones de entrega pactadas con el cliente.

Resulta evidente que los resultados de la planificación agregada tienen un gran impacto en la planificación y coordinación de los recursos de toda la organización y, por ello, existe una tendencia a incluir en la planificación agregada decisiones de otras áreas funcionales de la empresa, como personal, contabilidad y finanzas, aprovisionamientos o marketing. En este trabajo se presenta el problema de Planificación Agregada Integrada de la Empresa y se propone una clasificación basada en sus características principales.

    En una línea de producción clásica, solamente se producían productos con las mismas opciones. Para la fabricación de variaciones del mismo producto básico se utilizaba una línea diferente o eran necesarias modificaciones importantes de la maquinaria. En los últimos años se ha visto acrecentada la necesidad de considerar métodos que permitan más flexibilidad ofreciendo una mayor variedad de productos al cliente. En general estos métodos consisten en producir diferentes tipos de productos en una misma línea de producción. Además, con la filosofía de Just-In-Time, los stocks y sus costes derivados, especialmente el stock de productos acabados, se reducen considerablemente y consecuentemente una producción con lotes ya no es favorable. Con este panorama la producción de distintos productos o modelos en la misma línea de forma simultánea, sin lotes, adquiere un gran auge y con ello la complejidad de gestión de la línea aumenta. La toma de decisiones en las fases de secuenciación y programación se convierte en esencial.Existen varios diseños de líneas que pueden permitir la resecuenciación, como son:utilizar grandes almacenes (Automatic-Storage-and-Retrieval-System), desacoplar una parte del proceso del resto de la línea; disponer de almacenes con plazas limitadas fuera de la línea; existencia de líneas híbridas o flexibles; posibilitar la división y unión de líneas;o cambiar los atributos de las piezas en vez de cambiar la posición en la secuencia. La resecuenciación de piezas dentro de la línea llega ser más efectiva cuando se presenta un tiempo o coste adicional, conocido como setup-time y setup-cost, necesario en muchos casos, cuando en una estación, la siguiente pieza es de otro modelo.Esta tesis considera el caso de una línea de flujo con la posibilidad de resecuenciar piezas entre estaciones consecutivas. Los almacenes están ubicados fuera de la línea y en un primer paso accesible desde una sola estación (caso del almacén intermedio). A continuación se utilizará un solo almacén, centralizado, accesible desde varias estaciones. En ambos casos se considera que una pieza, debido a su tamaño, quizás no pueda ocupar ciertas plazas del almacén ya sea intermedio o centralizado. Como resultado del estudio y análisis del Estado del Arte, que permitió delimitar el caso a estudiar, se propone una Novedosa Clasificación de líneas de flujo no permutación. Esta clasificación era indispensable, debido a que en la literatura actual no se ha clasificado con profundidad este tipo de producción, hasta hoy las clasificaciones existentes no consideran las múltiples opciones que se presentan al incluir la posibilidad de resecuenciar piezas en la línea. La presente tesis presenta distintas formulaciones: un método exacto, utilizando un modelo de programación por restricciones (CLP), varios métodos híbridos, basados en CLP, y un método heurístico, utilizando un Algoritmo Genético (GA).Durante el curso de este trabajo, los estudios que se han realizado muestran la efectividad de resecuenciar. Los resultados de los experimentos simulados muestran los beneficios que sumergen con un almacén centralizado, comparado con los almacenes intermedios.El problema considerado es relevante para una variedad de aplicaciones de líneas de flujo como es el caso de la industria química, donde los pedidos de los clientes tienen diferentes volúmenes y en la misma línea existen tanques de diferentes volúmenes para resecuenciar. También, en líneas en las cuales se utilizan lotes divididos (split-lot) con el fin de investigar variaciones en los procesos, así como en la industria de semiconductores, o en la producción de casas prefabricadas, donde fabrican paredesgrandes y pequeñas que pasan por estaciones consecutivas y en las que se instalan circuitos eléctricos, tuberías, puertas, ventanas y aislamientos.

    In the classical production line, only products with the same options were processed at once. Products of different models, providing distinct options, were either processed on a different line or major equipment modifications were necessary. For today's production lines approaches, considering more flexibility, are required which result more and more in the necessity of manufacturing a variety of different models on the same line, motivated by offering a larger variety of products to the client. Furthermore, with the Just-In-Time philosophy, the stock and with that the expenses derived from it, especially for finished products, are considerably reduced and lead to the case in which a production with batches is no longer favourable.Taking into account this panorama, the simultaneous production of distinct products ormodels in the same line, without batches, lead to an increased importance and at the same time the logistic complexity enlarges. The decision-making in sequencing and scheduling become essential.Various designs of production lines exist which permit resequencing of jobs within the production line: using large buffers (Automatic-Storage-and-Retrieval-System) which decouple one part of the line from the rest of the line; buffers which are located offline; hybrid or flexible lines; and more seldom, the interchange of job attributes instead of physically changing the position of a job within the sequence. Resequencing of jobs within the line is even more relevant with the existence of an additional cost or time, occurring when at a station the succeeding job is of another model, known as setup cost and setup time.The present thesis considers a flowshop with the possibility to resequence jobs between consecutive stations. The buffers are located offline either accessible from a single station (intermediate case) or from various stations (centralized case). In both cases, it is considered that a job may not be able to be stored in a buffer place, due to its extended physical size.Following the extensive State-of-the-Art, which led to the problem under study, a Novel Classification of Non-permutation Flowshops is proposed. This classification was indispensable, due to the lack of an adequate classification for flowshop production lines that would consider the diversity of arrangements which permit resequencing of jobs within the production line. Furthermore, distinct formulations are presented: an exact approach, utilizing Constrained Logic Programming (CLP), various hybrid approaches, based on CLP, and a heuristic approach, utilizing a Genetic Algorithm (GA).During the course of this work, the realized studies of performance demonstrate the effectiveness of resequencing. The results of the simulation experiments reveal the benefits that come with a centralized buffer location, compared to the intermediate buffer location.The considered problem is relevant to various flowshop applications such as chemical productions dealing with client orders of different volumes and different sized resequencing tanks. Also in productions where split-lots are used for engineering purpose, such as the semiconductor industry. Even in the production of prefabricated houses with, e.g., large and small walls passing through consecutive stations where electrical circuits, sewerage, doors, windows and isolation are applied.

    Las organizaciones deben ser cada vez más competitivas para poder mantenerse en el mercado económico actual, lo que implica someterse a cambios constantes, ya que no sólo basta con tener la capacidad para generar productos (bienes y/o servicios), sino que cada vez los clientes son más exigentes en sus demandas, lo que obliga a ofrecer una gran variabilidad de productos, la satisfacción rápida de sus demandas, una reducción de costes, etc.; lo que ha hecho que en los últimos años se le de más importancia a la organización del tiempo de trabajo (OTT), como una herramienta muy útil para adaptarse a esos cambios constantes del mercados. La asignación de tareas (AT) forma parte de la OTT, considerando que la AT parte de un conocimiento previo de la cantidad de capacidad que se dispone en cada instante de tiempo y de la demanda en las diferentes tareas. Para llevar acabo la AT se siguen ciertas pautas, las cuales son originadas por aspectos económicos, ergonómicos, sociales, sistemas de trabajo, condicionantes legales, prioridades de la organización, necesidades del personal, etc. La AT se encarga específicamente de asignar las tareas al personal a lo largo de un horizonte de asignación determinado, teniendo previo conocimiento de la demanda de tareas y del personal disponible en cada uno de los intervalos de tiempo en que se divide el horizonte de asignación.El objetivo de esta tesis se centra en el desarrollo de una metodología para llevar acabo la asignación dinámica de tareas con personal polivalente y con múltiples criterios, la cual ha sido desarrollada y validada. La metodología propuesta no sólo trata la problemática de la asignación, si no que también incluye el trato de los problemas de re-asignación (llevar acabo una nueva asignación para condiciones que no estaban consideradas inicialmente) y de concatenación (cuando se requiere llevar acabo la asignación considerando un historial de asignación de tareas previo). El modelo multicriterio se presenta mediante programación matemática, específicamente haciendo uso de la programación lineal entera mixta (mixed integer linear programming), considerando una amplia gama de características y diferentes criterios de evaluación basados en: el factor económico, las preferencias del personal y de las tareas. En la función de evaluación, se aplica el método de ponderación de funciones para encontrar la asignación óptima y además para dos de sus criterios, la aplicación de la programación por metas (goal programming), en su enfoque de programación por metas ponderadas (weighted goal programming). Para llevar a cabo la valoración de la metodología, se incluye la experimentación de un caso real y un caso hipotético, tomándolos como una muestra representativa que nos permite obtener una visión general de la diversidad de situaciones existentes y de los resultados que se pueden obtener. Se ha resuelto el modelo mediante ILOG-OPL-STUDIO versión 3.7 (librerías de ILOG-CPLEX 9.0).Como conclusión podemos señalar que la metodología propuesta constituye una herramienta que favorece el uso de la flexibilidad laboral, ya que contribuye que las organizaciones consigan distribuir al personal en las diferentes tareas conforme a sus necesidades y las características del personal del que dispone. Además se demostró que el procedimiento propuesto es eficiente para resolver los problemas de asignación de tareas (o bien la reasignación y concatenación), así como también que puede adaptarse según las prioridades y necesidades.

    The organizations must be more competitive in order to take a place in present economics market, which implies to be immerse under constant changes, since it is not enough to have the capacity to generate products (goods and/or services), but a long time clients are more demanding, which forces to offer a great product variability, the fast satisfaction of their demands, costs reduction, etc.; giving more importance to the relying on organization of the working time (OTT), as a very useful tool to adapt to those constant changes of the markets.The allocation of tasks (AT) is part of the OTT, considering that the AT begins from a previous knowledge of the amount of capacity that is arranged at every moment of time and the demand in the different tasks. In order to begin using the AT certain there must be guidelines to follow, which are originated by: economic, ergonomic and social aspects, systems of work, legal conditioners, priorities of the organization, necessities of the personnel, etc. The AT is specifically in charge to assign tasks to the personnel throughout a determined horizon of allocation, with previous knowledge of the demand of tasks and the personnel available in each of the time intervals at which the allocation horizon is divided. The objective of this thesis is centered in the development and validation of a methodology for the allocation of tasks with multifunctional personnel and multiple criteria. The proposed methodology deals not only with the assignment problem, it also deals with the problems of reassignment (i.e. generating a new task for the conditions that were not initially considered) and concatenation (when we need to do the task considering a previous file of allocation of tasks). The multicriteria model is introduced by means of mathematical programming, specifically making use of the mixed integer linear programming, considering a wide range of characteristics and different criteria of evaluation, based on: the economic factor, the preferences of the personnel and the tasks. In the evaluation function, the weighted functions method is applied to find the optimal allocation and in addition for two of its criteria the application of the goal programming, in its approach of weighted goal programming. In order to carry out the evaluation of the proposed methodology, it is included the experimentation of a real case and a hypothetical case, taking them as included in a representative sample that allows us to obtain a general vision of the diversity of existing situations and from the results that can be obtained. The model has been solved using ILOG-OPL-STUDIO version 3,7 (libraries of ILOG-CPLEX 9,0). As a conclusion we can indicate that the proposed methodology constitutes a tool that aids the use of flexibility labor, since it contributes to the organizations they are able to distribute the personnel in different tasks according to their necessities and the characteristics of the personnel which have. In addition it was demonstrated that the proposed procedure is efficient to solve the problems of allocation of tasks (or the reassignment and concatenation), as well as it can be adapted according to the priorities and necessities.
