    En el camp de l'enginyeria de control, les anomenades tècniques d'identificació robusta tracten amb el problema d'obtenir no només un model nominal de la planta, sinó també una estimació de la incertesa associada al model nominal. Aquest model d'incertesa es caracteritza típicament com una regió en l'espai de paràmetres o com una banda d'incertesa al voltant de la resposta freqüencial del model nominal.Els models d'incertesa es fan servir àmpliament en el disseny de controladors robustos i, recentment, està augmentant el seu ús en la deteccció de falles basada en models. En aquest últim cas, es va comprovant la consistència entre les noves mesures i la regió d'incertesa. Quan es troba una inconsistència, es decideix que s'ha produït una falla.Hi ha dos principals grups de mètodes per a la modelització de la incertesa del models: els mètodes deterministes / de pitjor cas i els mètodes estocàstics / probabilistics. En l'actualitat, les tècniques més importants són la modelització de l'error del model (model error modeling), la identificació de la pertinença a un conjunt de models (set-membership identification) i la incrustació estocàstica no estacionaria (non stationary stochastic embedding). En aquesta tesi es resumeixen els principals procediments i s'il·lustren els seus resultats mitjançant diversos exemples de la literatura.Com a contribució es proposa una metodologia bayesiana per resoldre el problema d'identificació robusta. L'enfocament és molt unificador ja que diverses tècniques d'identificació robusta es poden interpretar com a casos particulars del mètode bayesià. A més, la metodologia pot tractar amb estructures no lineals, com ara les derivades de la utilització dels observadors. Els models bayesians d'incertesa obtinguts s'utilitzen per detectar amb èxit falles en un procés de quatre tancs i en un aerogenerador de tres pales.

    In the Control Engineering field, the so-called Robust Identification techniques deal with the problem of obtaining not only a nominal model of the plant, but also an estimate of the uncertainty associated to the nominal model. Such model of uncertainty is typically characterized as a region in the parameter space or as an uncertainty band around the frequency response of the nominal model. Uncertainty models have been widely used in the design of robust controllers and, recently, their use in model-based fault detection procedures is increasing. In this later case, consistency between new measurements and the uncertainty region is checked. When an inconsistency is found, the existence of a fault is decided. There exist two main approaches to the modeling of model uncertainty: the deterministic/worst case methods and the stochastic/probabilistic methods. At present, there are a number of different methods, e.g., model error modeling, set-membership identification and non-stationary stochastic embedding. In this dissertation we summarize the main procedures and illustrate their results by means of several examples of the literature. As contribution we propose a Bayesian methodology to solve the robust identification problem. The approach is highly unifying since many robust identification techniques can be interpreted as particular cases of the Bayesian framework. Also, the methodology can deal with non-linear structures such as the ones derived from the use of observers. The obtained Bayesian uncertainty models are used to detect faults in a quadruple-tank process and in a three-bladed wind turbine.

    This paper deals with the problem of nonlinear set-membership identification. To solve this problem, the Bayesian approach and the subpavings approach are presented. The paper illustrates how the Bayesian approach can be used to determine the feasible parameter set and to check the consistency between measurement data and model. In particular, it is shown that the Bayesian approach, assuming uniform distributed estimation error and flat model prior probability distributions, leads to the same feasible parameter set than the subpavings technique. Main issues and performance of both approaches are compared and discussed by means of an application example.

To illustrate this point a comparison with the subpavings approach is included. Finally, by means of the application to the wind turbine benchmark problem, it is shown how the Bayesian fault detection test works successfully.

    An autonomous and multiplatform virtual laboratory for educational purposes is presented. The implemented platform includes a server with a SSH (Secure SHell) connection and a separated repository containing the virtual experiments. The programming of the experiments is implemented in Java language based tool, the EJS (Easy Java Simulation) and uses an external computation engine, for example Matlab. The virtual laboratory provides control system experiments at University level. Two application examples are described, namely, a magnetic levitator and an inverted pendulum-cart system. The virtual laboratory has been successfully used for education and training of Electronics Engineering students. A discussion of the results of this e-learning experience is also presented.

    Se presenta un laboratorio virtual autónomo y multiplataforma para docencia. La plataforma implementada incluye un servidor con conexión SSH (Secure SHell) y un repositorio separado que contiene los experimentos virtuales. La programación de los experimentos se ha realizado en Java usando la herramienta EJS (Easy Java Simulation) para entornos gráficos y el programa Matlab como motor de cálculo externo. El laboratorio virtual contiene experimentos de control a nivel universitario. Se presentan dos ejemplos de aplicación, en concreto, un levitador magnético y un sistema de péndulo invertido con carrito. El laboratorio virtual ha sido probado con éxito en la formación de estudiantes de Ingeniería Electrónica. Se presentan y comentan los resultados de esta experiencia de e-learning.     Este artículo describe un sistema para sintonizar filtros de microondas de manera automática. Se presentan los resultados obtenidos de la sintonización automática de un resonador de microondas mediante un sistema diseñado específicamente para tal propósito. Este sistema es extrapolable a filtros de microondas que requieren múltiples tornillos de sintonización. El sistema diseñado se encarga de pedir al usuario los datos necesarios, procesar las medidas realizadas y finalmente hacer girar un motor a pasos para conseguir el ajuste deseado de frecuencia de resonancia. El tornillo de sintonización está unido al motor a pasos, y al girar el motor se hace variar la frecuencia del resonador. Dependiendo del paso del motor se podrá conseguir mayor precisión en el ajuste, pero lo que se mejora sustancialmente es el tiempo invertido en la sintonía y la velocidad a la que se puede cambiar la respuesta del dispositivo.

    En este trabajo se ilustra la versatilidad de un levitador magnético, no lineal e inestable, en la enseñanza de la teoría de control a distintos niveles y tanto en formato presencial como remoto. En concreto se presentan las prácticas presenciales de control clásico para estudiantes de grado y los experimentos de control moderno y no lineal propuestos para cursos de control avanzado. Asimismo, se describen las acciones que se han realizado para la adaptación de las prácticas a un entorno de laboratorio remoto, consistentes en modificar la planta a fin de evitar la caída definitiva de la bola o su contacto permanente con el imán, y el diseño de la interfaz de comunicación.
