    This paper presents a phase-plane trajectory analysis and the appliance of Lyapunov´s methodology to evaluate the stability limits of a small signal model of a Microgrid system. The work done is based on a non-linear tool and several computer simulations. The study indicates how to analyze a Microgrid system that is subjected to a severe transient disturbance by using its large signal model without the necessity of the small signal analysis as it is commonly applied.

    A new mathematical model of a renewable generator, with a DC-AC interface, based on the concept of electrostatic machine is presented. This new model has a direct relationship between the DC and AC side. Moreover, it can be used for stability studies, taking into account the dynamics of the DC link and to find saturations and limits on the control signals.

    Generadores renovables de carácter intermitente se han incrementado significativamente en los últimos años. Aquellos generadores con interface de salida de electrónica de potencia, como sistemas fotovoltaicos o eólicos, están conectados y gestionados por un sistema de control inteligente. Cuando el sistema de control inteligente también gestiona consumidores locales y dispositivos de almacenamiento de energía se constituye una Microgrid.Estos generadores conectados en Microgrid son altamente eficientes, fiables, modulares, ecológicos, silenciosos, etc. Debido a todo esto, serán un competidor importante en los mercados de energía en el futuro.En el estado del arte, el estudio de la estabilidad de Microgrids existen varias estructuras de conexión. Se muestran un claro predominio de inversores en paralelo con lazos de control de tensión y corriente, utilizando las curvas de droop entre ¿Potencia Activa Vs Frecuencia¿ y ¿Potencia Reactiva Vs a Tensión¿ para manejar la potencia entregada a las cargas. Generalmente los modelos de una Microgrid han sido linealizado alrededor de un punto de funcionamiento y operan bajo pequeñas disturbios. Diferentes autores han estudiado e identificado las raíces del sistema en el plano complejo, la forma en que las raíces se están moviendo en el plano en función de pequeñas variaciones de los parámetros del sistema, parámetros tales como las pendientes de las curvas droop, impedancias de línea, etc.Sin embargo, estos modelos sólo son válidos, mientras que el sistema no sufre grandes variaciones en torno a este punto de funcionamiento.Por lo tanto, estos modelos no reflejan una realidad en Microgrids cuando sufren cambios importantes, por ejemplo la conexión o desconexión de la red pública de forma inesperada, o fuentes de generación intermitente. Comúnmente, en generadores de energías renovables, se puede pasar de entregar potencia máxima a no entregar potencia en tiempos muy cortos, debido a un cambio inesperado en el medio ambiente.Esta tesis aplica la teoría actual de los sistemas de análisis no lineal, tales como los métodos de Lyapunov, procedimientos Popov y planos de fase, para determinar la estabilidad de la Microgrid contra cambios repentinos en las energías de entrada y propone una metodología de control para mejorar su estabilidad.Para apoyar los nuevos modelos propuestos, se desarrolló el concepto de máquina electrostática. Esto permite que los generadores basados en convertidores de electrónicos de potencia puedan modelarse como máquinas rotativas electrostáticas, con variaciones en la tensión de entrada. Además, este modelo matemático permite el análisis de las fuentes de energía renovables para cualquier punto de funcionamiento, incluso con el suministro de energía discontinua (bus de CC no constante).También, esta tesis presenta herramientas de análisis por medio de las funciones de Lyapunov que podrían ser utilizados para el análisis de estabilidad de gran señal en Microgrids. Además, esta metodología permite la búsqueda de los límites de la región de estabilidad.El modelo y la metodología propuestos permite analizar diferentes tipos de Microgrid con n-generadores conectados de diferentes maneras en presencia de grandes variaciones de la energía de entrada.Finalmente, se han presentado simulaciones y resultados experimentales con el fin de validar la metodología propuesta , el análisis de la estabilidad y métodos de control.

    In this paper, the wear of the suspensions in a speaker. This phenomenon can be characterized and seen as a variation of half inductance seen from the amplifier, because that value depends directly on the minimum and maximum excursion in the displacement of the moving coil. Having analyzed the possible cases of involvement of the shift from worn suspensions, has raised a board decision by which it is possible to diagnose the state of the suspension by measuring currents and voltages and calculation of half inductance seen from the amplifieR.

    Distributed generators systems and Microgrid are becoming more important to increase the renewable energy penetration in the public utility. This paper presents a mathematical model for connected inverters in Microgrid systems with large range variations in operating conditions. No-lineal tools and computer simulations, phase-plane trajectory analysis, method of Lyapunov and bifurcations analysis for evaluate the limits of the small signal models are used, and conclusion suggested utilizing models that can permit to analysis of the system when subjected to a severe transient disturbance such as loss a large load or loss of generation. The study of transient stability for Microgrid systems in stand-alone of the utility grid is useful to improve the design of Microgrid's architecture.

    The present work shows a condition monitoring system applied to electric motors ball bearings. Unlike most of the previous work on this area, which is mainly focused on the location of single-point defects in bearing components – inner and outer races, cage or ball faults -, this research covers wide range irregularities which are very often more difficult to analyse. In addition to traditional techniques like vibration and current signals, high frequency current bearing pulses and acoustic emissions are also analysed. High frequency bearings current pulses are acquired using motors especially modified. This modification isolates ball bearings from the motor stator frame, except for a bearing housing single point connected to ground through a proper cable where the pulses signal is measured. A multivariable fuzzy inference analysis approach is presented to get around the diagnosis difficulty.

    A new technique for induction motor fault detection and diagnosis is presented. This technique, which has been experimentally verified in stationary and non-stationary motor conditions, is based on the convolution of wavelet-based functions with motor stator currents. These functions are tuned to specific fault frequencies taking into account motor speed and load torque, thus considering variable operation conditions of the motor. Based on this technique an automatic system for fault diagnosis is also presented, which is suited for easy software implementation.

    Permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs) are applied in high performance positioning and variable speed applications because of their enhanced features with respect to other AC motor types. Fault detection and diagnosis of electrical motors for critical applications is an active field of research. However, much research remains to be done in the field of PMSM demagnetization faults, especially when running under non-stationary conditions. This paper presents a time–frequency method specifically focused to detect and diagnose demagnetization faults in PMSMs running under non-stationary speed conditions, based on the Hilbert Huang transform. The effectiveness of the proposed method is proven by means of experimental results.

    This paper presents a novel method to diagnose demagnetization in permanent-magnet synchronousmotor (PMSM). Simulations have been performed by 2-D finite-element analysis in order to determine the current spectrum and the magnetic flux distribution due to this failure. The diagnostic just based on motor current signature analysis can be confused by eccentricity failure because the harmonic content is the same. Moreover, it can only be applied under stationary conditions. In order to overcome these drawbacks, a novel method is used based upon the Hilbert–Huang transform. It represents time-dependent series in a 2-D time–frequency domain by extracting instantaneous frequency components through an empirical-mode decomposition process. This tool is applied by running the motor under nonstationary conditions of velocity. The experimental results show the reliability and feasibility of the methodology in order to diagnose the demagnetization of a PMSM.

    Accurate dynamic models of electromechanical devices are essential in order to develop effective motion control strategies of such devices. The effects of fringing flux can not be ignored when dealing with electromagnetic devices that present air gaps. So far parametric models applied to compute the motion of electromechanical devices do not include accurate formulations to take into account this effect. This paper develops an experimental method to obtain a simple analytic formulation of such an effect that can be used to calculate the linear motion of the aforesaid devices in a proper and accurate way. These effects are introduced in a robust and low time-consuming parametric model and the results are shown. Measured data has been compared with data obtained from simulations thus validating the simplicity and effectiveness of the proposed methodology.

    This paper presents a new approach for the current acquisition system in motor fault detection applications. This paper includes the study, design, and implementation of a Rogowski coil current sensor without the integrator circuit that is typically used. The circuit includes an autotuning block able to adjust to different motor speeds. Equalizing the amplitudes of the fundamental and fault harmonics leads to higher precision current measurements. The resulting compact sensor is used as a current probe for fault detection in induction motors through motor current signal analysis. The use of a Rogowski coil without an integrator allows a better discrimination of the fault harmonics around the third and fifth main harmonics. Finally, the adaptive conditioning circuit is tested over an induction machine drive. Results are presented, and quantitative comparisons are carried out.

    Sistema medida con sonda Rogowski sin integrador.

    La presente invención consiste en un nuevo de sistema de medida para la detección de fallos en motores eléctricos de corriente alterna basado en la medida de corrientes mediante sonda Rogowki sin integrador.

    El uso de la bobina Rogowski y circuito integrador como se ha usado tradicionalmente para la medida de corrientes de baja frecuencia presenta problemas. Para el análisis de los harmónicos de baja frecuencia de corriente utilizados en el diagnóstico de motores eléctricos es válida la señal que proporciona la sonda Rogowski sin integrador.

    Equipo de diagnóstico de rodamientos.

    Método de diagnóstico para cojinetes aplicado a motores de inducción mediante corrientes en modo común y dispositivo para la puesta en marcha de dicho método.

    El equipo comprende la adquisición de señales de corriente en modo común desde la alimentación trifásica de un motor de corriente alterna gestionado mediante un inversor, la adecuación de estas señales para ser gestionadas por un dispositivo procesador, y el diagnóstico del estado de los cojinetes en función de la evolución en número y amplitud de las descargas en modo común adquiridas.
