The Quality of Service (QoS) in land mobile satellite (LMS) communications drops drastically in the presence of shadowing and multipath fading. This paper studies two promising multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) schemes, along with specific transmission techniques, aimed at overcoming this problem.
