Dry mechanosynthesis is an efficient technique to synthesise nanocrystalline calcium deficient hydroxyapatites (CDHA). The mechanisms underlying a mechanochemical reaction are different from those triggering a dissolution mediated process, and this can have an effect on the structural features of the product.
