OTS project disposes of five demonstration Ocean Energy and Deep Offshore Wind infra-structures, including, the Aguçadoura site and Pico Plant in Portugal and the Lysekil test site in Sweden (Uppsala University). It also includes sites still under development, namely the BIMEP (Basque Country) and Zéfir (Catalonia) sites in Spain and the planned 250 MW grid connected Portugueses Pilot Zone. All of them envisage for demonstration, pre-commercial and commercial phases of wave energy, but possible also for offshore wind. The present proposal seeks to foster OE and DOW development through the link of the above test sites and pilot zones, which will create opportunities to undertake education, research and innovation in areas as different as: renewable energy and multipurpose offshore platformes; numerical and experimental modelling; instrumentation; underwater electrical connections; moorings; materials; offshore operations; fabrication and assembley; O&N; dedicated power take-off equipment; energy resource; site selection and characterization; supply chain issues; technological and non-technological barriers; support public policies; environmental impacts and monitoring; etc. Through Iberia Offshore Test Station project InnoEnergy will also show that it is well placed to develop the activitites that wiull contribute to increase the maturuity and competitiveness of OE and DOW. Specific objectives will be:
Offshore wind and ocean energy joint development related to resource assessment, technology development, deployment methods and tools, moorings, electrical connections, grid integration, supply chain issues, etc. Exchanging experience (technology, social and environment impact wise) from sea trials in 5 test sites with different enviornments. Joint development of porjects by diffrent stakeholdres.
