Abstract
Predicting the pore pressure distribution in a slope after rapid drawdown conditions requires the solution of a coupled flow‐deformation analysis in a saturated‐unsaturated porous media. A fully coupled finite element code (Code_Bright), able to handle in a consistent manner the drawdown conditions, is used to simulate the pore water pressure measured in the upstream slope of an earth dam (Glen Shira Dam, Scotland) subjected to a controlled rapid drawdown event.
