Abstract
In genetic association studies polymorphisms are usually tested for Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium (HWE), typically by using chi-square or exact tests. Significant deviation from Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium can be indicative of genotyping error or marker-disease association. Genetic markers often have a considerable amount of missing values.
