Demagnetization faults in permanent magnet synchronous motors may generate specific fault harmonic frequencies in the stator currents and the zero-sequence voltage component (ZSVC) spectra. Hence, by analyzing the stator currents or/and the ZSVC spectra it is possible to develop fault diagnosis schemes to detect such faults.
