Abstract
In this work, an algorithm based on Wavelet Transform (WT) is developed for detecting QRS complex, J point and peak and end of T wave. The algorithm has been validated using different databases provided by Physionet [1]. It is presented an application of the algorithm in the study of the Heart Rate Variability (HRV) and the JT interval is proposed as a more appropriate measure of ventricular repolarization of the heart than the QT interval [2].
