According to the available experimental research related to structures flexurally strengthened by bonding fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) laminates, the laminate debonds in a brittle manner in most tests. This debonding failure usually initiates in the most loaded regions due the effect of intermediate cracks (intermediate crack debonding).
