Abstract
The sensible heat accumulation is an efficient and low-cost way of storing thermal energy for its direct or indirect reutilization in typical building processes as space heating and sanitary hot water generation. The authors are developing both numerical and experimental tools for the study and optimisation of this kind of systems, focusing on the analysis of a specific sensible heat accumulator based on a cylindrical tank with an internal coiled pipe.
