Abstract
The wind, rain and traffic induce oscillations in the stayed cables for bridges. One eventual solution relates the use of semi-active devices as the magneto-rheologic fluids. These devices need guaranteed electrical power and computing and, also, technical attention. The Shape Memory Alloys (SMA) has been studied for their application as passive elements.
