Abstract
Barcelona is known worldwide as one of the hotspots of global tourism. Its urban attractions compete powerfully against those of Europe’s other most visited capitals and the city’s international dissemination projects its own image: a welcoming, Mediterranean metropolis with an excellent climate. This image of Barcelona corresponds to a visual narrative conceived and developed following the re-establishment of democracy in Spain and that reached its high point during the 1992 Olympic Games....
