The main objective of the team is the study of biological macromolecules using crystallographic methods. Many synthetic oligonucleotide structures have been studied, which have provided information on new DNA forms (Hoogsteen, recombinants, superhelix, etc.). The team also studies the structure and function of several proteins and drugs, as well as their interactions with DNA. The proteins and their variants are prepared directly from the tissue or by expression in procariotes. Site-directed mutagenesis is also used.
