Abstract
Some memory writes have the particular behavior of not modifying memory state since the value they write is equal to the already existing value. This kind of stores are what we call Redundant Stores. In this paper we study the behavior of these particular stores and show how can they be applied to a processor or multiprocessor system memory hierarchy in order to increase performance and decrease power consumption.
