Abstract
This study empirically examines the relationship between the corporate governance and corporate financial performance across 381 companies drawn from four countries: Ireland, New Zealand, Singapore and Spain. Using a system generalised method of moments (system GMM) estimator for the period 2005-2014 this approach allows for controlling the potential sources of endogeneity which are inherent in the performance–governance relationship.
