Abstract
This work turns around the distribution of the maximum as well as the one of the minimum of a random number of independent and identically distributed random variables. If F1 is the distribution of the measured r.v's and F2 is the distribution of the number of replicates of them, combining both in a suitable way, one obtains two new probability models. Fmax and Fmin that, under certain conditions, contain F1 as a particular case. Both models are characterized by means of their probability gener...
Both models are characterized by means of their probability generating functions and, for some particular cases, it is stablished a dual property between them.
