Abstract
This paper reviews the most significant rotor speed and position estimation methods for Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machines (PMSM). Additionally, the paper discusses their suitability for Electric Vehicle (EV) and Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) applications.
