One­step enzymatic crosslinking approach was used to synthesize multifunctional hydrogels for chronic wounds from thiolated chitosan and gallic acid. Stable at physiological conditions hydrogels with tunable physicomechanical and functional properties were generated with the aid of the oxidative enzyme laccase.
