Abstract
The assessment of damage caused by earthquakes in structures, requires the use of nonlinear analysis, either static or dynamic, in order to define the performance of the buildings for the considered hazard levels. In this paper, different damage models based on static and dynamic nonlinear analysis are used in the evaluation of a lowrise building with reinforced concrete masonry, which is the main structural material used in Costa Rica.
