In this work, the effect of magnesium on microstructure and mechanical behavior of an Al-5Cu-0.15Zr-0.20V-0.22Ti, was investigated. The magnesium content was added in two amounts 0.15 and 0.20 wt.%. The experimental alloys were obtained in an electrical furnace at 800°C, master alloy addition, degassing and pouring in metallic molds, then T7 heat treatment was applied.
