Resum
Recent advances in fluorescence microscopy allow spatial localization of protein structures in isolated cells at nanometer resolution. We present a novel image processing approach that is capable of localizing point-like intracellular protein structures under realistic experimental conditions. The method is based on a multilevel watershed segmentation, and has been validated in different applications in the area of calcium imaging of isolated heart cells.
