Abstract
Many modern telecommunications systems rely on strict timing and synchronization requirements. Synchronous Ethernet (SyncE) and Precision Time Protocol (PTP) are widely used to provide frequency and phase synchronization in current 4G and future 5G backhaul and core networks.
