Abstract
This paper proposes a robust guaranteed state estimation method with application to fault detection by combining H8 observer design with zonotopic analysis for discrete-time systems with both time-variant and time-invariant uncertainties. In order to improve the estimation accuracy, based on the H8 technique, the observer design is achieved by solving a linear matrix inequality.
