Abstract
The mathematical and didactic training of prospective teachers is a field of research requiring more and more attention both from the international community of researchers in Mathematics Education and the educational authorities worldwide (Ball, Thames & Phelps, 2008; Blömeke, Hsieh, Kaiser, & Schmidt, 2014; Putman & Borko, 2000; Silverman & Thomson, 2008). The research group submitting this proposal has been interested, within the framework of different projects (including the I+D EDU2015-64646-P), in aspects related to this topic, reaching the following conclusions: 1) the competence in analysis and didactic intervention is, together with the competence in knowing mathematics, one of the leading professional competences of the mathematics teachers; 2) The development of the competence in analysis and didactic intervention impacts on the development of other professional competences (digital, citizenship, modeling, development of creativity, etc.). The work carried out by our research group, in which professors from Latin American universities have collaborated, led us to pioneer the line of research about the development of competences of mathematics teachers in Spain, and in Latin America as well.
