Abstract
The paper investigates directionality effects of ground motions in the context of dynamic soil-structure interaction (DSSI) analyses. The problem addressed corresponds to a nonlinear soil deposit, overlaying firm ground, where the input motion was derived from an acceleration time history recorded at a rock outcrop.
