Abstract
This paper is devoted to establishing the degree of accessibility-based centrality of the urban structure conferred by public transit at the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona. Additionally, the strengthening of certain railway hubs is considered, with a view towards rebalancing the whole urban system. A landscape of accessibility is revealed, assuming that opportunities are the same everywhere, by evaluating de total distance from each place to all others.
