Brazil is responsible for various scholarship programs in higher education, these sponsored by the government and private institutions that grant national and international scholarships. The purpose of this article is to analyze the impact of the Brazilian scholarship programs on the mobility of students abroad, particularly those who choose Spain for higher studies. For this study, the data from the Brazilian government scholarship programs, developed through the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq), Science without borders (CsF) and Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Level Personnel (Capes), have been used and also data from UNESCO - Statistical Institute (UIS) historical series of entries (inbound) and outlets (outbound). The results have shown that the Brazilian scholarship programs have a very important importance among Brazilian students, this factor has a lesser presence in literature studies referring to other flows, despite this, studies with foreign students to attend to Spain they are still scarce. Specifically, the flow of students from Brazil to Spain has not been previously studied, so this study aims to fill this gap.
