Abstract
The work presented in this paper proposes an approach to reduce the common mode voltage at the output of matrix converters when a direct torque control scheme is employed to drive a permanent magnet synchronous motor. A mathematical analysis of the common mode voltage at the output of matrix converters is firstly carried out which is then corroborated by simulation results.
